Master of Arts, Child & Family Development
BDT(DONA), CD(DONA), LCCE, CLC
I have been supporting and educating expectant and new families since 2003. After the birth of my first child,
I felt called to support families during the childbearing year. I attended a DONA International Birth Doula workshop,
certified as a birth doula, and began supporting families during labor and birth.
A few years later I became a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator and started teaching childbirth and parenting classes.
My passion for supporting families continued, so I attended a DONA International Postpartum Doula workshop. I started providing postpartum doula services in 2010.
In 2013 I became a Certified Lactation Counselor and in 2014 I was approved as a DONA International Birth Doula Trainer.
I have a Master’s Degree in Child and Family Development from The University of Akron and Bachelor’s Degrees
in Microbiology and Clinical Laboratory Science from Miami University.
I live with my husband and 6 children on a little homestead in Knox County.
In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, reading, writing fiction and academic manuscripts,
being outdoors, and spending time with my big, busy family.
“A miracle is really the only way to describe motherhood and giving birth. It’s unbelievable how God has made us women and babies to endure and be able to do so much. A miracle, indeed. Such an incredible blessing.” Jennie Finch
